Dr. Patrick Yam, MD, CCFP, has been in full time medical practice for over 20 years, with a special interest in aesthetics and regenerative medicine. PRP Medical Aesthetics serves Richmond and the greater Vancouver area for PRP Injections, medical aesthetics and bioidential hormone replacement.

Dr. Yam is a recognized expert in the field of PRP preparation and use. As a featured speaker, he has given presentations for international medical organizations such as IMCAS and the Forum of Adipose Tissue and Stem Cells.

Dr. Yam is also an expert aesthetics injector of dermal fillers and neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport. He has trained under several well respected local and international experts.

We were so lucky to find Dr. Patrick Yam and this clinic! We desperately needed … More an effective, non-surgical treatment for my teen son’s meniscus tear. After a lot of research, we learned that for PRP to be effective in a large joint like the knee, you need a very high platelet concentration. But no other clinics in the area offered double-spin, high-concentration PRP.
We were delightfully surprised when Dr. Patrick literally ran out of the room when they started drawing my son’s blood just to check the platelet ratio and calculate how much blood to draw to reach over 10 billion platelets! I’ve never heard of any other clinic that takes that kind of care to ensure the right platelet count for each patient.
They also spend hours preparing the PRP because they double-spin it to create a more concentrated solution. Most clinics finish PRP appointments in 20–30 minutes, but Dr. Patrick spends more than two hours with each patient. In the end, my son’s injection contained about 15 billion platelets and his knee pain was gone within a month!
What stood out the most, beyond all the science and precision, was how much Dr. Patrick truly cares about his patients. He genuinely wanted to help my son, and that touched my heart. I’ve heard people fly from across Canada and even overseas to see him. We feel so lucky that his clinic is right here in Metro Vancouver.
